Datum builds digital twins that carry their own provenance. A twin usually models geometry and behaviour and asks to be trusted on both. This one also records where each figure came from, so the component register, the 3D model and the maintenance schedule all trace back to a source that can be checked.

The reference project is Project 118: a 1972 Range Rover Suffix A, chassis 355-03305-A, line number 118, built on 1 February 1972 and despatched six days later to Barretts of Canterbury. It carries a 137-component register with every part sourced, an 826-part model at 1.2 million triangles, and a maintenance schedule of 35 operations across four clocks, each operation stating the basis for its interval.

The archive is plain files in a repository rather than a proprietary database, so the record outlives whatever software happens to read it. Automotive heritage is the first market because it has the hardest evidence problem, but nothing in the method is specific to cars.
